Hello! My name is Melanie, and I began working at Sorensen’s in August 2011. My goal is to provide a safe, respectful, and nurturing environment, while working to bring the body into a better state of health. It is my belief that each client should be treated with attention, respect, and confidentiality.
I enjoy giving relaxation massage and deep tissue massage. I believe that deep massage speeds healing to injured muscles and tissues, and I also acknowledge that a nice relaxation session can bring better health to the body, in a variety of ways. Everyone’s needs are different, so my approach is focused on what the client needs and wants.
I have a degree in psychology from the University of Georgia, and over 25 years of experience in the business world. As my children got older, I decided to go back to school in 2010 and study massage therapy. I graduated with my certification in massage from Peninsula College in 2011. I am also certified in intraoral massage, which can be helpful for those suffering with TMJ.
I am married and have raised two beautiful children. I acknowledge the stresses of making a living and raising children in today’s busy world. I also enjoy running, and have run in three local half-marathons, in the last several years. I understand the desire to have an active lifestyle, and the stresses that this can put on a body. We all need a respite from the hustle, bustle nature of today’s world. I look forward to meeting you, and working with you, to bring your body into a better state of health.
